Men's Tennis Nipped by Temple 4-3
March 30, 19 Villanova, Pa.--- Despite several outstanding individual performances on Saturday, March 30 at the Villanova Tennis Complex, the Wildcat men's tennis team lost a heartbreaker to the Temple Owls 4-3. With the loss, Villanova's record fell to 10-4 on the season. Villanova was led by sophomore Robert Waibel who defeated Temple's Matthew Skyorshammes in three sets, 4-6, 7-6 and 7-6 in No. 4 singles. With the victory, Waibel (Hollidaysburg, Pa./ Hollidaysville H.S.) is now 12-1 overall and 9-1 at the No. 4 singles spot. Freshman Paul Moore also tallied an individual victory for the Wildcats, defeating the Owl's Alex Carretiero 6-4 and 6-2 in No. 5 singles, to improve to 4-2 on the year. The Cats third victory of the afternoon came in No.3 doubles, as sophomore Ramon Prats and freshman Casey Simmons defeated Temple. The Wildcats will resume their schedule on Tuesday, March 31 against Seton Hall at 3:30 p.m.
