NEWARK, N.J. - Sophomore Ryan Peyton (Newport Beach, Calif.) played in the third spot for both doubles and singles and was victorious in both matches despite Villanova (0-4) falling by a score of 5-2 to New Jersey Tech (4-2) on Saturday morning at the Naimoli Family Athletic and Recreational Facility.

Peyton scored a win at third doubles with freshman Michael Rosengren (Sharon, Mass.) and the pair clinched the doubles point for the Wildcats with an 8-6 win over Joao Tasca and Bryan Keelan. The decision was the closest of the three doubles matches played.

Villanova also won at first doubles, where sophomore Thomas O'Brien (Guilford, Conn.) and freshman Kelly Donaldson (Broomfield, Colo.) were 8-5 winners over Petr Rousar and Victor Martinez.

In singles play Peyton scored the only win for the Wildcats in the third spot with a come-from-behind 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 win over Martinez. The win improved his record on the season to 9-4 overall, including 3-1 in dual matches this spring.

Villanova was set to return to the court later in the afternoon for a match at St. Peter's.
