Annapolis, Md.--The Villanova men's tennis squad opened its spring season on Saturday at the United States Navel Academy, falling by a score of 4-1. Villanova (2-2) lost all four of its singles matches, but defeated Navy (3-0) in the lone doubles match.

Freshmen Scott Fahrendorf (Reno, Nev.) and Charlie Farmer (Newport Beach, Calif.) posted the lone victory for the Wildcats, winning their No. 1 doubles match versus Billy Griffin and Matt Walton, 6-3, 6-4.

Brandon Carter defeated Aaron Kusza (Wallingford, Conn.) at No. 1 Singles, 6-3, 6-3. Ricardo Baraldi (Delray Beach, Fla.) fell at No. 2 singles to Davy Lee, 6-3, 4-6, 6-0. Dimitri Chimerakis (North Palm Beach, Fla.) and Sean Gallagher (Fort Wayne, Ind.) lost their No. 3 and No. 4 singles matches, respectively.

The Wildcats return to action on Sunday, Feb. 6 when they face Stetson in Bethlehem, Pa.
