In the first of two matches on the day the Villanova Wildcats were beaten by nationally ranked #17 UC San Diego 6-1. The only point of the day came from Tim Abbraacciamento's singles match.
In a match originally scheduled for this past Sunday, the Wildcats were defeated in a rain-delayed match against the UC Riverside Highlanders. Despite gaining the doubles point, the Wildcats were swept in singles to lose 6-1.
Due to rain Sunday morning, the Villanova men's tennis team has postponed its match against UC Riverside. The Wildcats will now face the Highlanders on Tuesday, Mar. 3, with a 12 pm start.
On Sunday afternoon the Wildcats traveled to Wilmington, Delaware to take on the Blue Hens and took home a victory. The final score was 5-2.
Villanova men's tennis traveled along with the women's team to East Falls, Pa. and also took on the Drexel Dragons and very similarly lost 5-2.
In a dual match in Williamsburg, Va. against William & Mary the Villanova men's tennis team dropped the decision by a score of 7-0. It was the first time the Wildcats have been shut out this season.
Earlier today the men's tennis team went into Annapolis, Md. and got good performances out of Chris Seitz and Matt Phelps but in the end fell short to Navy.
In the fifth and sixth place match in the City 6 Tournament against La Salle, men's tennis took home the victory with a 7-0 win. The score cemented the Wildcats as the fifth place team in the tournament's final standings.
