Villanova head coach Bob Batman enters his 14th season at the helm of the Wildcats' men's tennis team. He also has served as the Director of Villanova Tennis for the past nine seasons. For his career, Batman has compiled an impressive 158-118 overall record on the Main Line.

Prior to his arrival at Villanova, Batman coached the men's and women's tennis teams at the University of the Redlands in Redlands, Calif. During his stint at Redlands, Batman coached the men's team to the Division III national championships and a final ranking of No. 8 in the nation. He also helped lead the women's team to their first-ever national ranking (No. 25), and their No. 1 singles player to the national semifinals.

Batman has also spent time as an instructor, teaching tennis around the world. He served as a resident tennis professional at the famous Vic Braden Tennis College at Coto de Caza Resort in California, as Director of Tennis at Camp Walt Whitman in New Hampshire, and as the head tennis pro at the Gottingen Tennis Center in Gottingen, West Germany. Presently, Batman is the Director of Tennis for the Martins Dam Tennis and Swim Club in Wayne, Pa.

A former Navy fighter pilot, Batman is a graduate of Fairmont State College, where he earned his Bachelor's degree in business administration. Batman also has a Master's degree in education counseling from the University of the Redlands.
