Curtin and Noonan Earn Philadelphia Soccer Seven Honors

Villanova, Pa. - Senior back Jim Curtin was selected as co-Philadelphia Soccer Seven Player of the Year, it was announced last night at the alliance's annual banquet. In addition, Wildcat senior midfielder Joe Noonan was named the Philadelphia Soccer Seven Academic Player of the Year.

Curtin was one of the area's most dominant defenders, earning first team All-Big East honors in addition to this award from the Philadelphia Soccer Seven. The native of Oreland, Pa., and graduate of Bishop McDevitt High School scored one goal and contributed three assists on the season as well.

Noonan, a native of Wilmington, Del., carries a 3.75 grade point average while majoring in Electrical Engineering at Villanova. This year he scored four goals and assisted on two others for a team-leading ten points. He also joined Curtin on the Philadelphia Soccer Seven first team.

Villanova was 3-0-0 in the Philadelphia Soccer Seven in 2000, the only squad not to suffer a defeat in the area competition.
