Villanova, Pa. - Senior back Jim Curtin has been named to the 2000 All-Big East Conference first team. It marks the second consecutive year in which the senior from Oreland, Pa., was named to the All-Big East first team.

Curtin enjoyed a terrific season for the Wildcats, who improved from 2-14 in 1999 to a 6-9-2 finish in 2000. Curtin was the defensive anchor on a Villanova squad that saw no fewer than 12 first year players make starts.

"Jimmy had a tremendous senior season and this honor reflects that," Villanova head soccer coach Larry Sullivan said of the Bishop McDevitt High School product. "He will be a very hard man for us to replace next season."

Curtin also contributed one goal and three assists on the 2000 campaign.
