Seamon Honored by Philadelphia Soccer Seven
Oct. 20, 2008
VILLANOVA, Pa. - Junior Mike Seamon, whose scoring efforts on Saturday night helped key a victory at No. 10 Louisville, was named Philadelphia Soccer Seven player of the week. It was the second time in as many weeks that Seamon (Rahway, N.J./Union Catholic High School) was honored by the Soccer Seven. Seamon assisted on a Farris Fakhoury goal in the 14 minute to help Villanova build an early lead against the Cardinals. Then, in the 53rd minute, he took a feed from senior Danny DeMasters and let loose on a 20-yard shot that eluded goalkeeper Andre Boudreaux. "Mike really got ahold of that one," noted Villanova head coach Tom Carlin. "It was a great shot." Seamon now has 14 career goals in his Wildcat career and paces the 'Cats in goals (three) and assists (four) for a total of 10 points. Villanova hosts another ranked foe this week when USF comes to the Soccer Complex at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
