VILLANOVA, Pa. - Senior John Fogarty was named BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week and Defender of the Week by the Philadelphia Soccer Six.

Fogarty, a senior from Marmora, N.J., posted back-to-back shutouts on the road last week as Villanova earned a 0-0 draw against No. 12/16 St. John's and followed that with a 1-0 win at DePaul on Saturday. The Wildcats have not allowed a goal to be scored in the last 244 minutes of action, including all 200 minutes last week.

Fogarty made eight saves for Villanova in the two games.

The Wildcats resume action on Tuesday when they stage their final regular season non-conference match of 2012 against Lafayette at the Villanova Soccer Complex (3:00 p.m./Nova Nation All-Access).

Lafayette arrives on the Main Line with a 5-6-1 overall record, 2-1 in the Patriot League. The Leopards defeated Lehigh 1-0 on Saturday night in their most recent action and are led offensively by Alec Golini, who has five goals and an assist thus far in 12 games.

This marks the Leopards' third visit to the Philadelphia area this season. Lafayette downed Penn 3-2 on Aug. 31 and tied La Salle 1-1 on Sept. 9. Villanova defeated the Quakers 5-3 and the Explorers 2-1 in September.

Villanova and Lafayette played a 0-0 tie on Oct. 4, 2011 in Easton, Pa.

"It's always good to get back home," states Villanova head coach Tom Carlin, "but the commitment to our approach doesn't change. We have to be prepared for a tough match against a Lafayette team that we have great respect for. Every time we have played them, it's been a battle."

The Wildcats, who enjoyed a four game home-stand in September, will be on its own turf for their next three contests. On Saturday, Cincinnati will be on West Campus for a key BIG EAST Red Division match at 1:00 p.m. and then Syracuse will arrive for an Oct. 17 clash at 3:00 p.m.

"It's important that we continue to build on our momentum at home," states Carlin.
