VILLANOVA, Pa. - Goalkeeper Micah Collins of Susquehannock (Pa.) High School has been announced as the eighth member of Villanova's incoming class of 2009. He will be a part of the 26-man roster that takes the field for the Wildcats when fall camp gets underway in August.

"Micah is a goalkeeper with tons of promise," stated Wildcats head coach Tom Carlin. "He was always solid with the FC Delco Hammerheads team who won USYSA Region 1 Championships in 2007 & 2008 and he continues to look stronger as he develops. We are excited to have Micah within the program."

Collins played club soccer for FC Delco, where he was a part of the Region 1 Premier championship squad in 2007 and the EPYSA state champions in 2008. As a senior captain at Susquehannock High School he recorded 13 shutouts as a senior in 2008. His team captured the PIAA AA state championship in 2008 and he was a York County All-Star.

Villanova opens its 2009 campaign at Loyola on Sept. 1 at 4:00 p.m.
