VILLANOVA, Pa. - Villanova University head men's soccer coach Larry Sullivan today announced the hiring of Tom Carlin as an assistant coach.

Carlin comes to Villanova from Northwestern University where he was the Associate Head Coach from 2006-07. During his stay at Northwestern, Carlin's duties included coordinating training sessions, overseeing the recruiting process, scouting and administrative work. He also helped the Wildcats advance to the Elite Eight of the 2006 NCAA Tournament.

Prior to his stint at Northwestern, Carlin was the head men's soccer coach at Arcadia University from 2000-06. Carlin tallied a 99-23-9 record at Arcadia and led his teams to three conference titles and three NCAA Tournament appearances.

Carlin owns a B.A. in History and a M.A. in Educational Leadership from Arcadia University. As a player at Arcadia, he was a three-time first team All-Pennsylvania Athletic Conference team member from 1996-98, in addition to being a three-year team captain from 1996-98.
