VILLANOVA, Pa. - B.J. Callaghan, who has been a part of the Villanova men's coaching staff alongside head coach Tom Carlin since 2008, has been elevated to the position of associate head coach, it was announced today.

"B.J. has done a tremendous job in his past three seasons with our team," stated Carlin. "I trust him with every aspect of this program and I view him as one the top future head coaches in the country. His hard work and tireless pursuit of finding creative solutions for any problem that pops up on a daily basis makes him an extremely valuable resource to this program.

"As the goalkeeping coach, B.J.'s energy, knowledge and enthusiasm have been contagious with Chris Bresnahan and John Fogarty. His has developed them into great young men and extremely hard working and talented goalkeepers."

Callaghan moved over from the women's soccer staff to the men's side when Carlin was appointed head coach in 2008. In that time Callaghan has helped the Wildcats build a bright foundation that has produced three straight BIG EAST Tournament appearances with the promise of further strides to come.
