VILLANOVA, Pa. - The Villanova men's soccer program today welcomed the first member of its class of 2017 with the signing of forward Max Kroschwitz, a Pipersville, Pa., product who has played his club soccer for PDA U18 Development Academy and Philadelphia Union U18 Academy.

"We're extremely happy to have Max join our program," stated Villanova head coach Tom Carlin. "Max is going to be a big time player for us. He brings an excellent ability to score goals, and his runs off the ball really set him apart from his peers. From the beginning of the recruiting process, Max has been bought into the direction of this program. He is a great fit for us."

Kroschwitz was a member of the 2012 Adidas Cup champions as a part of the Philadelphia Union U18 Academy and is the 2012-13 goals leaders for the PDA U18 Development team. In 2011-12, he tallied 13 goals for PDA U18 Academy.

Due to the new 10-month format of the USSF Academy season, Kroschwitz was unable to play high school soccer in 2012. Instead, he won the kicker's job for the Palisades High School football team and earned all-area honors despite having never played the sport competitively before.

The remaining additions to Villanova's 2013 roster will be announced in the coming weeks.
