Villanova Ties Pittsburgh in Men's Soccer
PITTSBURGH -- The Villanova men's soccer team posted its third tie of the season on Sunday, Sept. 28, 1997 in a 1-1 decision against Big East rival Pittsburgh. The Wildcats' overall record is now 3-3-3 overall, 2-1-2 in league play.
Villanova opened the scoring with a header by Paul Miraglia from Dave Francalangia, and led 1-0 as the two teams broke for intermission. Pittsburgh answered at the 68:06 mark of the second half when sophomore Reagan Bender scored his second goal of the year off a header from junior Travis Kruse.
The Wildcats return to action on Oct. 1, 1997 when they face Marist at 3:30 p.m. at the Villanova Soccer Field.
