Sept. 8, 2006
PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Michael Narciso scored a goal less than four minutes into the first half to help propel Providence College (3-1-0 overall, 1-0-0 BIG EAST) to a 3-1 victory over Villanova (3-2-1 overall, 0-1-0 BIG EAST) in the conference opener for both teams here on Friday afternoon. The Friars jumped into the lead off a corner kick. A penalty kick awarded at 29:52 allowed the Friars to build a two goal advantage prior to halftime. Alex Bury sent the shot past Friel into the back of the net.
Villanova cut the deficit in half at 60:44 when sophomore Miles Harrison (Louisville, Ky./Ballard H.S.) sent a cross towards the net from 35 yards out. The ball glanced off the left post and into the net. It was Harrison's first career goal.
