VILLANOVA, Pa. - The Villanova men's lacrosse team announced on Thursday their participation in the 7th Annual Nicholas Colleluori Fall Men's Classic on Saturday, October 5th at Ridley High School in Folsom, PA. The annual event is dedicated to remembering the life and legacy of HEADstrong founder Nicholas "HEAD" Colleluori while promoting the importance of community, brotherhood and sportsmanship within the game of lacrosse. The event will mark the Wildcats only fall scrimmage of the offseason.

Twenty collegiate men's lacrosse programs spanning division I, II and III, 10,000 spectators and a large group of volunteers will descend upon Ridley High School to be part of this year's event. Games will begin at 1:00pm on Saturday and 9:00AM on Sunday.

Division I lineup includes the following programs: Binghamton University, Hofstra University, Lafayette College, Monmouth University, Saint Joseph's University, Virginia Military Institute and Villanova University.

Division II & III lineup includes the following programs: Bryn Athyn College, Centenary College, Chestnut Hill College, Dowling College, Farmingdale State University, Marymount University, Misericordia University, Neumann University, Randolph-Macon College, Richard Stockton College, Rosemont College, SUNY Maritime College and Widener University.

Admission can be purchased at the ticket booths on event day. All proceeds will support the HEADstrong FoundationTM.

The Nicholas Colleluori Classic has become a Fall tradition in the sport of lacrosse. Now in its 7th year, this milestone event has helped raise over $1,100,000 allowing the HEADstrong Foundation to strengthen their commitment to improving the quality of life for those affected by cancer.

Villanova is coming off a 2013 campaign where they were crowed the BIG EAST Regular Season champions and advanced to the championship game against Syracuse in the BIG EAST Tournament. The 2014 squad returns 30 letterwinners including 2013 BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year John LoCascio (Fairfield, N.J.) and All-BIG EAST First Team selections Christopher Conroy (Chatham, N.J.), Thomas Croonquist (North Caldwell, N.J.) and John Kluh (Lothian, Md.) Head Coach Michael Corrado welcomed the addition of 11 freshmen to the 2013-14 squad who will look to make an immediate impact as they look towards the 2014 season.
