Karalunas Named One of Top Position Players in NCAA

BALTIMORE, Md. - Junior Brian Karalunas (Dewitt, N.Y.) has been named one of the best long-stick midfielders in the country as announced by InsideLacrosse.com today, the country's leading media outlet for the sport. The rising senior had a stellar junior campaign for the Wildcats, causing 52 turnovers for the season while adding 55 ground balls to his defensive statistics. Karalunas led the NCAA in caused turnovers per game, averaging 3.47 per outing and set a single-season record in both caused turnovers for the season and per game for the Wildcats. For his efforts in 2010, Karalunas earned recognition to the USILA Honorable Mention All-America Team for the second consecutive year, named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year in addition to earning First Team All-BIG EAST honors.
