Corrado's Coaching Staff Will Coach "South" Team in USILA All-Star Game

VILLANOVA, Pa. - Head Coach Mike Corrado has announced that Associate Head Coach Simon Connor, Assistant Coach Andy German, Director of Operations John "Woody" Derham and Volunteer Assistant Coach Joe Canuso will be joining him on the sidelines as assistant coaches for the upcoming 2013 USILA North/South All-Star game this coming Friday, May 24th at Cabrini College. The Villanova Men's Lacrosse staff will serve as coaches for the "South" team in the 72nd annual event which began in 1940.

The contests are slated to take place at Edith Robb Dixon Field on the campus of Cabrini College in Radnor, Pa. The Division III game will be played at 3:00 PM followed by the Division I/II game at 5:30 PM. This all-star tradition started in 1940 and has been played every year with the exception of 1944 and 1945.

Corrado was named the 2013 BIG EAST Coach of the Year after leading the squad to a 7-8 overall record and 5-1 mark in BIG EAST Conference games. After beginning the season with a 1-5 record Corrado's team rebounded by going 6-2 in the last eight games of the season and made their way to the BIG EAST Championship contest where they fell to Syracuse 13-9 in the final. Six Wildcats earned all-conference accolades with junior John LoCascio taking home BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year laurels at the end of the season.
