Billy Hurley Named to BIG EAST Honor Roll

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Villanova freshman goalkeeper Billy Hurley (Morristown, N.J.) has been named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll for the 11th week of the season, as announced by the conference office today. Hurley captured a career-high 10 first half saves and allowed only five goals in VU's 9-5 victory over the Friars on Saturday afternoon. This is Hurley's first conference accolade this season. In addition to his performance this weekend, Hurley currently ranks 15th in the NCAA in goals against average, allowing only 8.65 goals per game and has claimed six wins after taking over the starting position midway through the season. His .540 save percentage ranks him 25th among goalies in the nation. Stephen Keogh of Syracuse and Chris Nixon of Georgetown were named Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively. No. 13/11 Villanova will take on No. 14/14 Georgetown on Saturday, May 8th at Villanova Stadium for their last regular season home game. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.
