Rice Named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Senior attackman Jack Rice (Baltimore, Md.) has been named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week for the final week of the regular season. Rice helped the Wildcats to a 19-11 victory over the Providence Friars and secured a share of the BIG EAST Regular Season trophy in the process.
The senior tallied four goals in the 19-11 win, which helped the Wildcats clinch a share of the BIG EAST Regular Season title, a first for the program. The win also helped Villanova to earn the No. 1 seed in the BIG EAST Championship. Rice's four goals were a game high and helped him move into third place on Villanova's All-Time goals list with 121 career scores. He is currently 10th among active leaders in goals scored and notched his 19th career hat trick in the win.
Villanova will be back in action on Thursday, May 2nd when they take on the Georgetown Hoyas in the semifinals of the BIG EAST Championship. Game time is slated for 7 p.m. at Villanova Stadium.
