PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Senior Jack Rice (Baltimore, Md.) and junior John LoCascio (Fairfield, N.J.) have been named to the BIG EAST Weekly honor roll for their performances against Notre Dame this past Saturday. This marks the second weekly honor roll laurels for both Rice and LoCascio this season.
LoCascio led the team with seven ground balls and four caused turnovers in the 13-9 loss to the then-No. 2 Fighting Irish. For the season, LoCascio is the NCAA leader in caused turnovers per game (3.91) and has tallied 70 round balls and 43 caused turnovers on the season. His 70 ground balls are good for second on the team.
Rice posted four goals in the loss which marked the 18th career hat trick for the senior, who led the team in points during the Saturday matchup. For the season, Rice has tallied 26 goals and is now 4th all-time at Villanova with 117 career goals and leads the team with 26 points in 2013. The senior attackman is also currently 10th on the list of active career goals scored leaders.
Villanova will be back in action on Saturday, April 27th when they host the Providence Friars for their regular season finale. Game time is slated for 1 p.m. at Villanova Stadium
