NEW YORK, N.Y. - Villanova men's lacrosse freshman goalkeeper Dan Willis (Moorestown, N.J.) has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon. Willis had an outstanding game in net in Villanova's 9-8 overtime loss to No. 5 Denver on Friday evening and kept the Wildcats in contention to win the important conference matchup.
The weekly honor marks the first of Willis' career and the freshman has been an impact player for the Wildcats since his arrival to the Main Line. Willis notched nine saves against the Pioneers in the first half of action, included several point-blank stops, and recorded 12 saves for the contest to match his second-highest save total for the season. On the year, Willis has played 588 minutes while making 86 saves and records a .486 save percentage.
Villanova will be back in action this coming Saturday, April 12th when they travel to Piscataway, N.J. to take on Rutgers. Game time is slated for 7 p.m.
