Kevin Cunningham Named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Sophomore midfielder Kevin Cunningham has been tabbed the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week for his performances against Binghamton and Fairfield for the Wildcats. Cunningham scored four goals and assisted on seven others while causing four turnovers and collecting one ground ball for the week. He added two goals and four assists against Binghamton, while tallying two goals and three assists against Fairfield. Jack Davis of Georgetown captured Defensive Player of the Week honors for the third week of the season. Junior Brian Karalunas has also been elected to the BIG EAST Honor Roll for his performances over the past week. The long-stick middie tallied eight ground balls and caused six turnovers for the Wildcats in their two-win week. Chris Daniello (Syracuse), David Earl (Notre Dame), Rickey Mirabito (Georgetown) and Justin Pennington (Rutgers) were also named to the honor roll. The Wildcats will be back in action tomorrow evening when they travel to State College, Pa. to take on Penn State. Faceoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
