NEW YORK, N.Y. - Freshman midfielder Austin Frederick (Baltimore, Md.) has been named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll for the third week of the season, announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon. Frederick netted the Wildcats overtime game-winner on Tuesday, February 25th against Drexel for the 11-10 victory. For the week, Frederick tallied four points and two points in each contest against Drexel and Delaware.
In a midweek matchup against then-No. 15 Drexel, Frederick notched two goals including the game-winner in overtime to post the Wildcats first victory of the season. He followed that performance with two assists in a 11-9 loss at Delaware on Saturday, March 1st. For the season, Frederick is tied for first place on the squad with six points via four goals and two assists alongside senior Kevin O'Neil (Cockeysville, Md.) who also posts six points via five goals and one assist.
Villanova will return to action this coming Saturday, March 8th when they host No. 14 Penn at 5pm in Villanova Stadium. The contest is scheduled to be broadcast live on Fox College Sports.
