Villanova Travels To Rival Penn For First Road Game

VILLANOVA, PA. - The Series: Villanova stands at 4-10 all-time against Penn, with the last win coming in 2003. Sophomore Brendan O'Donnell notched the game-winner to cap a four-goal rally in the fourth quarter. Penn's last victory came in 2002 by an 11-5 margin.
Offensive Outbursts: After registering one assist in the season-opener against Colgate, senior Richie Kratz racked up four points on two goals and two assists against Lehigh. The two goals and four points tied his career highs. Sophomore Brendan O'Donnell set a new single-game high with two assists against Lehigh to go along with his first goal of the season.
Chalk It Up: Three Wildcats scored their first points of the season against Lehigh. Junior Dan Fanelli took advantage of an extra-man opportunity to net his first goal, while juniors Marc Creegan and Chris Kramer each dished an assist in the game. Through two games, nine different players have registered at least one point.
Inside the Numbers: The Villanova defense sits tied for second in the country in goals against average (5.00) according to statistics on www.lax.com. Sophomore goalie Joseph Canuso has allowed just 10 goals in two games and has a save percentage of .583. Sophomore Matt Starker ranks among the nation's goal leaders after tallying five in his first two games.
Next Up: The Wildcats return home on Tuesday, March 9 for a 7 p.m. game against Bucknell - the first of a three-game home stretch. Lafayette and Binghamton will also visit Villanova Stadium during that span, with contests on March 13 and 20 at 3 p.m.
