LoCascio Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

NEW YORK, N.Y. - Senior defenseman John LoCascio (Fairfield, N.J.) has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for the first week of the season, as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon. LoCascio earns honor roll accolades after totaling nine ground balls, five caused turnovers and an assist in a 7-6 triple-overtime loss to No. 14 Lehigh on Sunday afternoon in Bethlehem, Pa.

LoCascio had an outstanding debut in Villanova's season opener, matching a career-high nine ground balls and adding five caused turnovers and an assist in over 70 minutes of action. The senior co-captain looks to back up his 2013 performance of leading the NCAA averaging 3.79 caused turnovers per game and is on track for a repeat performance for his senior season.

Villanova will be back in action on Tuesday, February 25th when they host Philadelphia-rival Drexel at Villanova Stadium for their home opener. Game time is slated for 7 p.m.
