Cuccinello earns BIG EAST Attack Player of the Week Honors, Comizio to Weekly Honor Roll

Senior attack Christian Cuccinello has earned the season’s first BIG EAST Attack Player of the Week as announced by the conference office this afternoon.  Defensive midfielder TJ Comizio also earned a spot on the Weekly Honor Roll. 

Cuccinello tied his career high with five goals during the Wildcats 17-16 overtime win at Penn State last weekend.  He scored three of his goals before halftime and netted the final two during Villanova’s 5-0 run in the fourth quarter.

Comizio, scooped up a career high nine ground balls against the Nittany Lions and caused two turnovers. 

In the first Maverik Media Poll of the season the Wildcats move into 15th after just receiving votes in the preseason poll. 

This weekend Villanova will travel to Frisco, Texas to take on the No. 5 Yale Bulldogs, game time is set for 1:00 p.m. ET.
