Lewisburg, Pa. - On April 2, #18 Villanova men's lacrosse staged a furious comeback in the waning moments of the game to fall short, 7-6, at Bucknell. The Wildcats loss snaps a three-game winning streak and brings their record to 6-2 overall and 2-0 in the Colonial Athletic Association.

The 'Cats scored the first two goals of the match before Bucknell responded with a six to one goal advantage into the fourth quarter. Bucknell managed to clear the ball on 18 of 22 tries against a normally staunch Villanova defense. The Wildcats rallied in the late in the game but could get no closer than one goal before time expired.

Senior Brian Marks tallied two goals and two assists, both of which were Villanova game highs. The Wildcats' Matt Starker added two goals while Brendan O'Donnell and Matt Lucas delivered one. Villanova goalkeeper, Joseph Canuso, made six saves in the losing effort.

The Wildcats next face non-league foe Stony Brook on April 6. Last season Villanova suffered a close loss to Stony Brook, 10-9. The game is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. at Villanova Stadium.
