Villanova, Pa.--- The Villanova University men's lacrosse team (2-4) lost to Radford University (3-3) 12-8, on Sunday, Mar. 22, at Dedmon Center Stadium on the campus of Radford University.
Villanova opened up the game with a 2-0 lead with goals by sophomore Tom Lasky and senior Jeff Huber. The Wildcats held a 4-3 advantage at half-time.
The Highlanders trailed for two and half quarters, until freshman Jeff Wichell scored making it 6-5. The Highlanders would not relinquish the lead for the remainder of the game. The Highlanders out scored the Wildcats 6-2 in the third quarter.
Lasky and sophomore Justin Loonie lead the offense for the Cats as they each netted two goals. Sophomore Eric Dauer, freshman Andrew Bogle, senior Jeff Huber and junior Dave D'Amico each netted one goal in the losing effort.. The Highlanders were lead by B.J. Forte who scored five goals. Between the pipes for Villanova junior Brendan Keneally had 14 saves and for Radford junior Jason Donavan had 16 saves.
With the lose the Wildcats fall to 2-4 on the season. Their next game will be against St. Joseph's University on Friday, March 27, at St. Joseph's. The Highlanders will now go on three-game road trip which begins on friday, Mar. 27, at Butler.
