Men's Lacrosse vs. Drexel

Villanova hosted Drexel in its home opener on February 25, 2014 and tallied an 11-10, overtime victory.

Career: Appeared in 39 games while making one start through his senior season... Registered three goals and seven assists for 10 points through three seasons... Collected 33 ground balls and caused 21 turnovers... Ranks 9th averaging 0.54 caused turnovers per game... Tied for 11th all-time with 21 caused turnovers... Will return for his final year of eligibility as a graduate student in 2015.

2015: Named a team captain for the 2015 season.

2014: Appeared in all 16 games as a short-stick defensive midfielder in 2014... Can also play long-pole defense for the Wildcats... Registered one goal and three assists for four points... Tallied a goal vs. Lehigh (Feb. 16) and added an assist in games vs. Penn (Mar. 8), Denver (Apr. 4) and Providence (Apr. 26)... Collected 22 ground balls and caused 13 turnovers... Fifth on the team with 13 caused turnovers on the season... Collected a career-high four ground balls vs. Lehigh (Feb. 16) and Denver (Apr. 4)... The Governor's Academy: Earned three varsity letters under Coach Peter Bidstrup... Captained the 2010 team to a 14-2 record in the ISL as a long-stick midfielder... Named a 2010 U.S. Lacrosse All-American... Garnered All-ISL and All-New England accolades... Selected as an East-West Senior All-Star and Top 205 All-Star... Member of the Under Armour Underclassmen Games for team New England... 2009-2010 Captain of NESLL U-19 Black Team... Also earned four varsity letters in football as a running back and cornerback, earning all-league and team MVP honors... Personal: Born July 6th, 1991 in Boston, Mass... Parents are John and Nancy Pope... Has an older brother, John, and sister, Chynna... Brother, John, played ice hockey for Trinity College from 2004-06... Enrolled as an Accounting major with a minor in Finance in the Villanova School of Business.
