John "Woody" Derham is in his 12th season with the men's lacosse team as he enters the 2012-2013 season. In July 2010, he was named the Director of Operations under Head Coach Michael Corrado and will serve as a liaison to Villanova lacrosse alumni and perform outreach on behalf of the program.
Prior to being named the Director of Operations, Derham had been instrumental in developing the Wildcats into one of the nation's best teams at the faceoff position. Former Villanova specialist Chris Colliniates ended his collegiate career with a .621 faceoff win percentage, ranking among the top five in the nation and led the entire country in ground balls per game under Derham's teaching. Additionally, Colliniates became the all-time leading faceoff man in program history and was drafted by the New Jersey Pride in the June 2007 MLL Draft.
Derham graduated from Villanova's College of Commerce and Finance in 1988 and was a teammate of Corrado from 1985-87. For his senior season, Derham was honored as the team captain and was the recipient of the prestigious Jim Jones Award, given annually to the Villanova lacrosse player who best exemplifies loyalty, courage and dedication both on and off the field.
Derham founded a privately held media based technology company where he serves as President and CEO. He resides in Bucks County, Pa.
