Villanova Assistant Coach to Coach Thailand National Team in FIL World Games

Andy German returns to the Villanova sideline for his 5th season as an assistant men's lacrosse coach in 2014-15. Under Head Coach Mike Corrado, German serves as the defensive coordinator in addition to assisting in practice and game preparation.

During his four years on the Main Line, German has played a significant role in team defensive development while consistently playing one of the toughest schedules in the nation. Additionally, in the summer of 2014 German earned his first international coaching assignment when he served as an assistant coach for Team Thailand in the FIL World Championships held in Denver, Colo.

In 2013, German helped solidify the Wildcats place amongst the nation's elite after earning the BIG EAST Regular Season Title and securing the No. 1 overall seed for the 2013 BIG EAST Tournament. Villanova advanced to the BIG EAST Championship contest before falling to the eventual NCAA runner-up Syracuse, 13-9, in Villanova, Pa. which ended the Wildcats hopes for an NCAA postseason berth.

In 2011, German guided the Wildcats to their highest ranking in program history at No. 7 in the Nike/Inside Lacrosse and USILA polls as the Wildcats earned their first-ever at-large berth to the NCAA postseason tournament. Traveling to the University of Denver in what would be the first NCAA tournament game to be played west of the Mississippi, the Wildcats narrowly fell to the Pioneeres, 13-10, on Denver's home turf.

Prior to returning to Villanova, German served as the offensive and recruiting coordinator at Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, Pa. In 2009, German guided the Crusaders to a 5-11 record and in 2010, improved the team to 8-8.
