Wildcats to Compete in 2nd Annual Bob Kemp Lacrosse Classic
The Villanova men’s lacrosse team alongside Loyola, Bucknell, and Cornell will play in the 2nd annual Bob Kemp Lacrosse Classic.
Curran named to USILA Division I Scholar All-Americans
In 1989 the USILA Scholar All-America Program was established to recognize student-athletes from USILA member institutions who have distinguished themselves academically, athletically and as citizens of their communities. The USILA Selection Committee selects an overall team representing Division I, II and III.
Devin McNamara Named to Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Team
Junior attack Devin McNamara (Lutherville, Md.) was recognized for his achievements both on and off the field during the 2016 season when he was named to the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Team in an announcement on Wednesday morning. McNamara was voted onto the team by the sports information directors of the Philadelphia area colleges and universities.
Froccaro and Curran All-American Honorable Mention
Villanova men’s lacrosse junior attack Jake Froccaro (Sands Points, N.Y.) and senior midfielder Jack Curran (Fair Haven, N.J.) were given Honorable Mention on the USILA/Nike All-American team.
Moderski and Corrado Chosen for USILA/Nike North-South All-Star Game
The USILA/Nike North-South game will be played this coming Friday, May 27th at Cabrini College in Radnor, Pa. The game will be held at 5:30 p.m. The South will be coached by High Point head coach Jon Torpey. Besides Corrado he will be assisted by fellow High Point assistant coaches Pat Tracy and Ryan Cassidy.
Moderski, Froccaro to All-Tournament Team
Moderski had a career high in both ground balls and caused turnovers in the final game of his career against Marquette in the BIG EAST Semi-Finals. He finished with 11 ground balls and six caused turnovers.
Villanova Drops BIG EAST Semi-Final to Marquette 14-9
John Moderski finished with a career high 10 groundballs and a team high six caused turnovers. Curran added six groundballs while Joey Froccaro was 8-15 from the X.
No. 3 Villanova to Take On No. 2 Marquette in BIG EAST Semi-Final
Series History: Heading into Thursday’s game the Wildcats are 2-2 all-time vs. the Golden Eagles with the Wildcats last win coming in 2014 at the BIG EAST Tournament in the semi-final game by a final of 9-6.
