NORMAN, Okla. - As a new academic year quickly approaches, more awards continue to pour in recognition of Villanova student-athletes academic success. For the fourth consecutive year, the Villanova Golf team received the All-Academic Team Award given by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
For Villanova to have been eligible to receive this award, the team had to have earned a 3.00 combined GPA or above. The University also had to have submitted the GPAs for each player on its official squad list for the academic year.
A total of 187 teams submitted GPAs of 3.00 or higher to earn All-Academic Team recognition.
Last season, Villanova finished eighth in the Big East Conference Championships in Okatie, South Carolina. In the final tournament of his collegiate career, senior Lucas Trim led Villanova with an 11th place finish.
Villanova will begin practice for the 2017-18 season in late August.
