Day Two Results Pinehurst Intercollegiate

PINEHURST, N.C. - At the end of the second day of competition of the Pinehurst Intercollegiate in Pinehurst, N.C., the Villanova Wildcats are tied for 11th place overall in the team competition in the 16 team field. Villanova finished with a total score of 338 (+54) at the par-71, 6,832 course of Pinehurst No. 6 after day two in the three-day tournament.

Senior co-captain Michael Kania (Haverford, Pa.) leads the team tied for 23rd place overall after finishing round two with an 81 (+10).

Steve Skurla, Vince Boyle, Derek Jones and Ted Brennan round out the Villanova scorers finishing tied for 54th, 61st and 66th place overall with rounds of 88, 83, 87 and 90, respectively. Cory Siegfried, competing as an individual, is tied for 81st place after posting an 86 on the day.

Old Dominion and VCU currently lead the team field with total scores of 599. Ball State, UNCG and Richmond round out the top five teams on the day. Marshall's Nathan Kerns leads the field of individuals finishing at three under par with a 68. Ball State's Tyler Merkel leads the individual field at +2 (70-73).

The Wildcats will look to improve their team and individual standings with one more day of competition at Pinehurst.
