ORLANDO, Fla. - The Villanova Wildcats golf team saw improvement on the second day of competition of the Harmony Golf Preserve Intercollegate and posted a team score of 300 for the day. The Wildcats remain in 5th place overall with one day of competition remaining in Orlando, Fla.
Senior Michael Kania emerged as the frontrunner for the Wildcats on day two, posting an even-par score of 72 for Tuesday's round on the course. Kania is currently tied for 7th place overall after posting a 74 (+2) yesterday.
Steve Skurla notched a round of 76 (+4) for a two-day total of 146. He's currently tied for 19th place while Derek Jones (76---+4), Ted Brennan (76---+4), Cory Siegfried (81---+9) and Vince Boyle (84---+12) round out the Villanova performers in 25th, 31st, 32nd and 33rd place, respectively.
Austin Peay State remains in first place overall in the team competition after carding a two-day low of 283 as a team. Florida Atlantic, VCU, Florida Gulf Coast, Villanova and George Washington round out the team finishers after two days of competition.
Florida Atlantic's Richard Donegan (70-71---141) moved up in the individual leader board to sole possession of first place after beginning the day tied for second place overall. Austin Peay State's Anthony Bradley, Florida Atlantic's Alex Gates, VCU's Steffen Harm and Austin Peay Stat's Marco Iten round out the top five finishers through two days of competition.
The final day of the Harmony Golf Preserve Intercollegiate begins on Wednesday as the Wildcats look to solidify their standings.
