Skurla, Kania Lead Team at Harmony Golf Preserve Intercollegiate

ORLANDO, Fla. - Following the first round at the Harmony Golf Preserve Intercollegiate, the Villanova Wildcats are currently in 5th place overall after posting a team score of 305 (+18). Host institution VCU is tied for first place alongside Florida Atlantic with team scores of 286 (-2).
Villanova senior co-captains Steve Skurla (Wheaton, Ill.) and Michael Kania (Haverford, Pa.) both carded rounds of 74 (+2) and are tied for 13th place overall. VCU's Adam Ball leads the field after carding a 68 (-4) on the day while Florida Atlantic's Richard Donegan and Austin Peay State's Marco Iten are tied for second at -2 for a one round total of 70.
Derek Jones (Lower Burrell, Pa.) (78--+6), Vince Boyle (Philadelphia, Pa.) (79--+7), Cory Siegfried (Villanova, Pa.) (81--+9) and Ted Brennan (Newtown Square, Pa.) (83--+11) round out the Villanova finishers and are tied for 25th, 27th, 32nd and 35th place overall, respectively.
VCU, Florida Atlantic, Florida Gulf Coast, Austin Peay State, Villanova and George Washington round out the team finishes after day one.
The Wildcats will have two more days of competition to move up the leaderboard as competition resumes in Orlando, Fla. on Tuesday and Wednesday.
