JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. - The Villanova men’s golf team wrapped up play on the final day of the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate. The Wildcats finished in 15th place in a highly challenging field after scoring combined rounds of 298-294-312= 904 (+40).
Penn State won the tournament currently after scoring rounds of 277-272-284-=833 (-30).
Behind Penn State was Kent State, Louisville, Missouri, Coastal Carolina, Tennessee, ETSU, UNCW, Virginia Tech, East Carolina, Virginia, and VCU. Furman, Kansas State, and Villanova round out the leaderboard.
Villanova was led by senior Andy Butler who carded rounds of 71-71-75= 217 (+1). He finished tied for 37th place overall.
Sophomore Connor Daly finished second in Villanova’s group after scoring rounds of 73-72-78= 223 (+7). He finished tied for 59th overall. Freshman Matt Barnes finished in 75th place after shooting rounds of 76-74-76= 226 (+12). Freshman Reb Banas completed the tournament finishing in 82nd place, after shooting rounds of 79-77-82=238 (+22). Senior Zach Egermayer finished in 83rd place after carding rounds of 80-83-83=246 (+28).
