REHOBOTH BEACH, DEL.----- On Monday, April 15, in the 36-hole Rehoboth Beach Invitational in Delaware, 10 Wildcat golfers competed representing the Villanova men's golf team. The team divided into two groups and "Villanova B" placed eighth overall and "Villanova A" placed 11th in the 14-team field. Sophomore John Keller (Bayside, N.Y.) led the way with a three-over-par 147 (76-71) and finished eighth out of 75 players.

The tournament hosted by George Washington was played at the 6,615-yard, par-72, Kings Creek Country Club in Rehoboth Beach, Del.

Trailing by eight strokes after the first 18 holes, Rutgers University rallied to shoot a round two total of 294 to capture the team title and edge Iona College by one stroke. George Washington's Thomas Blankvoort (66-75, 141) finished three-under-par to claim the individual medal.

Keller led the "Villanova B" squad and finished his second round one-under-par to shoot a two-day total of 147. Matt Gugino (Leroy, N.Y.) and Kevin Foster (Newington, Conn.) finished within one stroke of each other. Gugino shot a, nine-over-par, 153 (77-76) and while Foster fired a, 10-over-par, 154 (77-77).

Junior John Ward (Milburn, N.J.) and freshman Ben Eisner (Nags Head, N.C.) each finished the 36-hole tournament 10-over-par to lead the "Villanova A" to its 11th place finish. Freshman Jeff Parry (Columbia, Md.) cashed in with a 159 (80-79) to finish 15-over-par and 38th oveall.
