Wildcats in 7th Place After Round One at FDU Invitational

HAMBURG, N.J. - Following the first round of action at the FDU Invitational at Crystal Springs Golf Club in Hamburg, N.J., the Villanova Wildcats are in 7th place out of 14 teams and posted a total score of 320 on the afternoon.

Senior Robby Meador (Miami Lakes, Fla.) leads the Wildcats and is tied for 5th place overall after carding a score of 74 (+3), good for three-over par. Meador tallied a 39 on the front nine and followed with a 35 on the back nine to lead the squad.

Luke Waggoner (Crystal Lake, Ill.) also had a strong day and is tied for 24th place with an 80 (+9) on the afternoon, while Peter Mandich (Naperville, Ill.) and Lucas Trim (Tampa, Fla.) are each tied for 41st place overall and carded rounds of 83. Scott Miller (Madison, N.J.) rounds out the Villanova scoring with a 94 and is in 72nd place in the individual competition.

Binghamton leads the field with an even 300 and placed three individuals in the top-five after the first 18 rounds of action. FDU, Hofstra, Towson and Central Connecticut round out the top five team scores.

FDU's Minn Woon is in sole possession of first place and is the only player in the field to be at par with a 71.

The final round of action will commence Monday morning at 8am with a shotgun start.
