Results

ANNAPOLIS, MD. ----- In it's second tournament of the fall season the Villanova men's golf team returns home from the Navy Spring Invitational with a 14th place finish with a two-round total of 665 (328-337, +97). The tournament includes 21 collegiate teams and over 110 individual golfers at the 6,611 yard, par-71 U.S. Naval Academy Golf Course in Annapolis, Md.

The University of Minnesota captured tournament team title with a combined score of 605 (+37). Host Navy finished second overall (614, +46) edging Princeton University by 11 strokes (625, +57). Minnesota's Simon Nash (75-75, 150) and David Morgan (70-80, 150) who finished eight-over-par, shared the individual medals.

The top three finishers for Villanova all finished within one stroke of each other. John Ward (Milburn, N.J.) led all Wildcat golfers with a two-round total of 165 (81-84, +23) to finish the tournament 47th overall. Other Villanova competitors include sophomore John Keller (Bayside, N.Y.) who finished one stroke behind Ward with a two round total of 166 (+24). Freshman Shawn Standen (Avon Lakes, Ohio) placed 56th overall with a 25-over par, 167 (83-84).

Rounding off the top Wildcat finishers are freshmen Kevin Foster (Newington, Conn.) and Charlie Nettleton (Lisle, Ill.) with scores of 170 (81-89) and 177 (91-86), respectively.

The Wildcat golf team returns home and will prepare for the upcoming Princeton Invitational on April 11-13.
