EASTON, Pa. - Following the first round of play at the 2014 Lafayette Invitational, the Villanova Wildcats are currently tied for 7th place in the team competition after posting a team score of 309 (+25) on the par-71, 6,635 yard Silver Creek Country Club Course. Villanova is tied with Bucknell in 7th place while Longwood is currently in first place overall at +16 heading into the final round of action on Monday.

Lucas Trim, Peter Mandich and Robby Meador lead the Wildcats all tied for 19th place after posting rounds of 76 (+5). The trio combined for seven birdies on Sunday's first round and will look to continue their momentum into Tuesday's final 18 holes. Luke Waggoner follows behind in fourth place on the team and tied for 67th place overall with a score of 81 (+10) on the day, while Vince Boyle rounds out the Villanova finishers tied for 74th place with an 82 (+11).

Hofstra's David Mecca leads the field after carding a round of 72 (+1) on Sunday and has three players closely behind him at +2. Longwood, Hofstra, Rider, Canisus, Central Connecticut State, Drexel, Lehigh, Bucknell, Villanova, La Salle,e Manhattan, Monmouth, Lafayette White, Colgate, Lafayette Maroon, Iona, Siena and Niagara round out the team placements for Sunday's 18 holes.

Action is set to conclude on Monday where both an individual and team winner will be crowned.
