Kania Paces Team to 6th Place Finish at Harmony Golf Preserve Intercollegiate

ORLANDO, Fla. - On the final day of competition at the Harmony Golf Preserve Intercollegiate, the Villanova golf team battled difficult conditions but concluded the three-day competition in sixth place with a team total of 922 (305-300-317--922).
Senior Michael Kania (Haverford, Pa.) paced the Wildcats and finished tied for 15th place overall after posting a final round of 75 on the day and a 220 after three rounds (74-72-79--225) at the par 72, 7,208 yard course in Orlando, Fla.
Florida Atlantic's Richard Donegan claimed the individual championship after finishing with a three day total of 215 (70-71-74). Austin Peay State's Marco Iten and Anthony Bradley grabbed second and third place overall following the final day of competition and helped guide APS to the team title. VCU, Florida Atlantic, Florida Gulf Coast, George Washington and Villanova round out the top six teams.
Villanova will continue on their Spring Break trip of the South and will face Coastal Georgia in a duel match on Thursday, March 7th at St. Simon's Island, Ga. The Wildcats conclude their week-long competition dates at the Pinehurst Intercollegiate in Pinehurst, N.C. March 10th through the 12th.
