FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.- The Villanova golf team wrapped up day one play at the Fort Lauderdale Intercollegiate on Monday. The team is currently placed in 13th place after shooting rounds of 301-301=602 (+51).
Toledo is currently in the lead who carded rounds of 288-285= 573 (+22). Toledo if followed by Austin Peay, Connecticut, Boston College, Florida Atlantic, Old Dominion, St. Bonaventure, Florida Gulf Coast, host Loyola, Drexel, Davidson, Hartford, Villanova and St. John’s.
Villanova was lead by senior Andy Butler. Butler carded rounds of 73-75= 148 (+4). He is tied for 31st place heading into tomorrows final round. Sophomore Connor Daly shot rounds of 76-74= 150 (+6) and is tied for 44th place. Freshman Matt Barnes scored rounds of 78-74= 152 (+8) and is tied for 53rd place. Senior Zach Egermayer had rounds of 74-78= 152 (+8) and is also tied for 53rd place. Senior Andrew MacMillan shot rounds of 81-83 = 164 (+20) and is in 86th place.
