Buies Creek, N.C.- On Monday, March 3, the Villanova University men's golf team completed first round play at the Campbell Invitational in second place. The Wildcats sit 19 strokes back from Campbell, who lead the tournament with a score of 296.

Villanova received several outstanding performances, with all of their golfers finishing within the top 20. Leading the way for the 'Cats was freshman Jonathan Hewett, who shot a second round 37 to finish in a tie for eighth overall with a score of 78. One stroke back in a tie for 12th are Henry Watson, Charlie Nettleton and John Ward. Watson and Ward finished the afternoon with a 40-39, while Nettleton scored a 41-38.

Chris Peterson finished the day in a three-way tie for 16th place, following his 39-41 outing.

The Wildcats will get back into action tomorrow when they begin second round play at the Keith Hills Country Club.
