The Villanova golf team returned to action this week during spring break at the Harmony Golf Preserve Intercollegiate in Harmony, Fla. and placed fifth in the three-round invitational with a team score of 894.
Villanova head golf coach James Wilkes has been named a U.S. Kids Golf Master Kids Teacher Award recipient, as announced by the organization on January 8th.
Freshman Lucas Trim (Tampa, Fla.) carded an even par round of 72 and Villanova lowered its team score by 10 strokes from the first round as it maintained its third place standing at the Lehigh Invitational. The 36-hole tournament concluded Monday afternoon on the 7,091-yard Grace Course at Saucon Valley Country Club.
Freshman Peter Mandich (Naperville, Ill.) carded a 75 and Villanova is in third place after the first round of the Lehigh Invitational at Saucon Valley CC. Mandich is tied for third place individually and his round helped the Wildcats post a team score of 317 on Sunday. The tournament concludes with the second round on Monday.
The Villanova golf team takes to their final event of the fall season this Sunday and Monday for the Lehigh Invitational at Saucon Valley Country Club in Bethlehem, Pa.
