Four members of the 1999 Villanova football team that went 7-4 overall and 6-2 in Atlantic 10 Conference play were named to the Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team. The four Wildcats named to the team included sophomore kicker Casey Hannon, junior wide receiver Conor Kinsella, senior defensive back Hezekiah Lewis and junior safety Matt Reiter.

"The Atlantic 10 Football Conference is delighted to acknowledge those student-athletes who excel both academically and athletically," said Atlantic 10 Commissioner Linda Bruno. "The institutions of the Atlantic 10 have always been committed to making academics and athletics a workable equation and these student-athletes we honor are an example of the success of that commitment. We are proud of these young men and hope they serve as role models for all our student-athletes."

To be eligible for the team, a student-athlete must have a grade point average of at least 3.00 and be a starter or key reserve on his team.
