Terry Butler Added to New York Jets Active Roster

NEW YORK CITY - Former Villanova standout running back Terry Butler (Syracuse, N.Y.) was signed to the active roster today by the New York Jets. Team Executive Vice President/General Manager Terry Bradway made the announcement.
Butler originally signed with the Jets on July 30, 2005 and saw action in all four of the team's preseason games. His best effort during the preseason came in the final game against Philadelphia, when he registered 10 carries for 61 yards. He also had four carries for 17 yards against Minnesota.
During his four-year career at Villanova, Butler rushed for 2,080 yards on 464 carries (4.5 avg.) and 17 touchdowns. He also tallied 70 receptions for 717 yards (10.2 avg.) and five scores. He spent two previous stints on the Jets' practice squad this season.
With the addition of Butler to the active roster, the Wildcats now have four former players on NFL rosters. Running back Brian Westbrook is with the Philadelphia Eagles, while wide receiver Brian Finneran plays for the Atlanta Falcons. Safety Raymond Ventrone is currently on the practice squad of the New England Patriots.
