The Villanova Wildcats will host the William & Mary Tribe in the NCAA FCS national semifinals on Friday, December 11. Kickoff at Villanova Stadium is set for 8 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN2.
Villanova is coming off an impressive 46-7 win over New Hampshire in the quarterfinal round. The Wildcats outgained New Hampshire by a 387-84 margin. New Hampshire managed negative 66 yards rushing and just nine first downs in the loss. Junior running back Angelo Babbaro led Villanova with 13 carries for a career-high 148 yards and two touchdowns. Junior Matt Szczur tallied 123 yards of all-purpose offense. On defense, senior Tim Kukucka registered six tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss. 2.5 quarterback sacks and a forced fumble.
William & Mary registered a 24-3 road win at Southern Illinois. The Tribe defense held Southern Illinois to just 187 yards of total offense, while William & Mary posted 373 yards of total offense. Jonathan Grimes led the Tribe offense with 133 yards on 30 carries and three touchdowns, while quarterback R.J. Archer completed 15-of-28 for 192 yards. Evan Francks paced the William & Mary defense with 10 total tackles.
The winner of Friday's game will advance to the FCS National Championship to be held on Friday, Dec. 18 in Chattanooga, Tenn.
