RICHMOND, Va.--Villanova sophomore quarterback John Robertson (Paramus, N.J.) has been named the CAA Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts in Saturday's thrilling 35-34 win over the Delaware Blue Hens. This is the fourth time this season that Robertson has earned this honor.
Robertson completed 19-of-28 for 252 yards and three touchdowns to go with 31 carries for 165 yards and one score in the Delaware victory. Robertson led the Wildcats back from a 34-12 deficit with 8:01 to play. In the fourth quarter alone, he completed 11-of-13 for 146 yards and three touchdowns. All total, Robertson amassed 417 yards of total offense, marking the second time this season that he reached the 400-yard total offense mark.
In 11 games this season, Robertson completed 169-of-247 for 1,957 yards to go with 13 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He also had 217 rushes for 1,405 yards and 20 touchdowns. The 1,405 rushing yards ranks as the second best single season mark in school history.
Robertson will appear on the final ballot for the Walter Payton Award which goes to the top player in FCS football.
Villanova finished the season 6-5 overall and 5-3 in CAA play.
